How Can severe Pain Below The Rib Cage Be Treated?

My ALT and AST were up to around 70. Felt pain at bottom of right rib cage and around all sides of belly button and center .I believe an ultrasound and history showed non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. And I was told to wait another 6 months to have another blood test and Dad if it was still hot they were going to look for her I feel that this a waste of the year if it s anything serious. I have little appetite and no energy. Have lost about 10 lbs. THIS last month. Not feeling pain and nausea. What might be your opinion or next move.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Dear. Since you have non alcoholic liver disease, weight loss is a good sign. The first line of treatment is usually weight loss through a combination of a healthy diet and exercise. Losing weight addresses the conditions that contribute to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Ideally, a loss of 10 percent of body weight is desirable, but improvement in risk factors can become apparent if you lose even three to five percent of your starting weight.

Your doctor may recommend that you receive vaccinations against hepatitis A and hepatitis B to help protect you from viruses that may cause further liver damage.

So healthy food, lot of fruits and vegetables, and regular exercise is the key treatment in your case.

Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you.
All the best
With warm regards
